The retail network faced seasonal bottlenecks. Legacy distribution centres leaned heavily on manual processes, which drove fulfilment errors and delays. Limited inventory visibility contributed to shelf stock-outs alongside elevated buffer stock.
Barry Logistics initiated a complete structural overhaul. We designed and implemented a centralized, fully automated Distribution Center (DC) equipped with an advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS). We deployed autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for high-speed 'Goods-to-Person' picking, drastically reducing human error. Furthermore, we integrated AI-driven predictive algorithms to dynamically calculate the optimal delivery routes for their nationwide fleet.
In this illustrative scenario, the target design aimed for materially higher throughput, substantially improved pick accuracy, lower fleet fuel intensity through better routing, and faster replenishment cycles for fresh categories. Any live engagement would be measured against agreed KPIs rather than generic benchmarks.
